Description: Workshop participants will learn to prepare the clay Application, and warm it to 38 - 40 degrees Celsius. The clay is then massaged onto the treating area, for example the back or leg. The clay remains as a 10mm thick layer, and the area is covered with a damp towel for 15-35 minutes. Finally the clay is cleaned from the body and Remedial Massage is performed to finish the treatment.
THERMO MASSAGE:
The practice of healing with clays dates back thousand of years into pre history. Ancient cultures such as the Australian Aborigines, American Indians, ancient Chinese, and Egyptians, healed with clay.
Pelotherapy is the application of Massage with pre-heated clay, or just taken from the hot spring environment, where the treatment was performed. When the Roman Empire was finished, the folk remedy remained in some European countries, like Hungry. The Roman baths were rebuilt and modernised to carry on the tradition in Hungary. Hungarian medical doctors of the 21st Century prescribe this treatment for arthritic and muscular pain, because the clay combined with heat works well.
Clay molecules exhibit negatively charged ions, while pollutants typically exhibit positively charged ions. Clay particle do 2 things that work in our favour: they attract and absorb unwanted positively charged particles, literally locking them away and protecting us from them. What takes place is actually an ion exchange, which is often described as a magnetic drawing effect. It is electrical attraction.
